Happy Fourth of July! Happy 231st Birthday to America.

As I write to you, our campaigns are in full swing. We have passed the June primary united as a party. We will continue to promote a message of rersults-oriented government. We’ll continue to fight for those core democratic values of opportunitiy, responsibility and equality.

Many of you know my father was a football player and coach. He used to say that “games are not won on the playing fields of November, they are won on the practice fields of August.” The same is true for our political campaigns. We must engage the voters and promote our record throughout these hot summer months to be ready for November.

It’s becoming clearer and clearer what success in these elections means to Virginia. We have the choice between the proven record of Tim Kaine and Mark Warner before him, versus the record of George W. Bush and Dick Cheney. The choice is dramatic.

I’ve continued to travel the state, promoting our message, supporting each of our candidates and speaking out on key issues. Please continue to join me in the effort. We can’t do it without you!
