~ Continues Building Grassroots Momentum~
GATE CITY – Last night, during a meet and greet at the Scott County Career & Technical Center with local Democrats, Brian Moran received the support of Scott County Democratic Committee Chair Dennis Gillenwater and Scott County Sheriff John Puckett. The endorsers demonstrated Moran’s strong base of grassroots support all over Virginia.“Brian Moran fights hard for those who don’t have anyone to fight for them,” Puckett said. “He’s always made the needs of public safety a top priority, and I know, as Governor, he’ll work to keep our communities safe. Brian shares our values and knows what it means to wake up every morning to improve the lives of the hard-working men and women of Virginia.”
Earlier in the day, Moran received the endorsement of Bristol Commissioner of the Revenue Terry Frye. The previous day, he picked up support of officials in Radford, Pulaski and Marion.
“It’s great to have the support of these Democratic leaders in Gate City,” Moran said. “They’re joining our campaign, and we’re picking up steam in every corner of the Commonwealth.”
Gate City is the hometown of former Attorney General Jerry Kilgore.
Brian Moran has a 20-year record of fighting for the people of Virginia. He was Chairman of the House Democratic Caucus and a Delegate from Alexandria City and Fairfax County. Prior to that, he served as a prosecutor in Arlington County.

Brian Proposes a "Homeowners' Bill of Rights"
February 20th, 2009
Today, standing in the driveway of a foreclosed home in suburban Loudoun County, Brian Moran proposed a “Homeowners’ Bill of Rights” to help homeowners stay in their homes and out of foreclosure, stop deceptive loans, and protect neighborhood home values. Moran is the first candidate for Governor to propose a plan to protect homeowners. There were 5,000 foreclosure fillings in Virginia last month alone. Moran’s proposal works in concert with the recent proposal from President Obama.
“Virginia’s families are getting squeezed. Our next Governor needs to keep fighting for the family dinner table, not the corporate board room,” Moran said. “The Bush Administration and politicians like them have spent all their time focused on Wall Street. I’m extending a lifeline to Main Street. This Homeowners’ Bill of Rights will help more Virginians live their American dream.”

I believe Brian will fight for Loudoun residents, especially fairness in state support for our quality public schools.”
“I know that Brian Moran will fight for our public schools,” said Tom Marshall, Loudoun County School Board Member, Leesburg District. “He’ll work to raise teacher salaries, invest in public education and make sure our workforce is prepared to compete.
