• Protecting Homeowners Like all Virginians, Brian has seen the terrible effects this economic downturn has had on Virginia’s families, many of whom are in danger of losing their homes. That’s why he supported Governor Kaine’s effort to protect defrauded homeowners from foreclosure as a good first step. As governor, Brian will fight to protect homeowners from deceptive mortgages and support solutions that prevent our families from losing their homes.
• Increasing Financial Security Brian knows that unscrupulous lenders can create financial instability for Virginia’s families. Brian has consistently fought against predatory lending and will continue to do so as governor. He also fought to crack down on payday lending, as well as credit card theft and credit card fraud. As governor, Brian will always protect the financial security of Virginia’s families.
• Ensuring Product Safety As a legislative leader, Brian has championed legislation to protect Virginians from unsafe products in our stores. He worked to educate parents and protect children against dangerous toys, such as those with high lead content, by leading the effort to increase penalties on those who resell recalled toys to our families.
