PART II:

My Ad Agency kicks butt.

  • They automatically push my money into my best performing ads…
  • They constantly split-test my headlines + images to create better ads than I can…
  • They use 55,000 data points to find people who are similar to my best customers…
  •  They separate people who actually buy stuff from people who just like to browse…
  • They know exactly which ads are really bringing in sales…
  •  They will watch my ROI for me, so I never have to worry about spending more than I can…

Every day, I literally have a blank check for them. As long as my ROI is at a certain threshold, I want them to spend as much as they possibly can.

Every day, my business grows because of the new customers they bring my way! It’s the dream.

Let me introduce you to the the CEO of this agency I use…

Doesn’t that guy just scream, “I’m a robot”?

In case you haven’t figure it out yet, the “agency” I’m talking about is Facebook. They have spent the last 10 years becoming the most badass platform on the planet for finding you paying customers.

Facebook Ads are armed to the teeth with tools + features that help you get every last penny out of your ads. Which leaves you with just one job to do = tell them what you want.

And you will get as much as you can possibly get.

So I will say it again…Facebook Ads are the big opportunity in 2019, and beyond.

If you want to keep talking about how “the good old days are gone”, no sweat. Good luck in your hunt for those magical “$0.03 Clicks”.

But if you’re ready to pour jet fuel on your business, explode the size of your audience, attract waves of fresh buyers every single day…then this should be the most exciting thing you read all year.

This entire post is basically just me giving you permission to get excited about Facebook Ads again. The only thing I ask…when your business starts blowing up, check out SamCart for managing your burgeoning empire.

I also accept Bitcoin.

Let’s jump right into the 5 Strategic Advantages That Facebook’s “Ad Agency”

Strategic Advantage #1: They Know Your Customers…Before You Do

Remember when you had to tell Facebook who would wanted to show your ads to? So you would tell Facebook to show your ads to Women, between ages 25-55, inside the US, who liked Yoga Fan Pages.

“Back in the day”, that was called Targeting. And whoever was good at Targeting, had a huge advantage.

The whole point was to try and find your perfect customers. Well fast forward to 2019, and you can give Facebook a list of your current customers…

And they will automatically run an algorithm that uses more than 55,000 data points to find you more people exactly like the ones you already have.

Data Points

That’s what we in the biz call a s**t-ton of data.

Think you could find a few extra sales by putting ads in front of that group of people?

Ya, me too.

Strategic Advantage #2: They Know Everything

Part of the reason good old Marky Zuckerberg was sitting in front of Congress was to talk about how much data Facebook actually knows about all of us.

The idea that they potentially have 55,000 separate data points about you should clue you into exactly how much they do know…

But as marketers, that data is our best friend.

Of course Facebook knows the obvious stuff: your name, where you live, the college you went to, your ex-girlfriend’s name…

But you might be more surprised to know that Facebook knows what you bought at the grocery store (your membership card has your phone number, remember?), what items you left in your cart the other day, what fast food join you stopped at on the way home from work, and a whole….WHOLE lot more.

55,000 data points. As a citizen, I’m slightly alarmed. As an advertiser, I am thrilled. The more data they have, the better their platform can find me customers.

Strategic Advantage #3: They Find ‘Winners’ For You

Remember back in Part I when we covered why creating dozens of “mini campaigns” with hundreds of unique ads inside of them was a bad idea?

It is. Let’s be clear on that. It’s a bad idea.

But the theory behind it is solid! Create a whole ton of ads, and see which one works the best. Boom. You’re a billionaire.

Well, did you know that Facebook Ads will literally do all of that split-testing FOR you? So you can boost your conversions by letting Facebook identify your best headline, best copy, best images, etc.

So all your money is always backing your ‘Winners’. Without having to do all that crazy manual work.

And that doesn’t even scratch the surface on how they will test putting your ad in all their different placements: news feed, mobile, stores, right column, and all the spots over in Instagram. You create your ads one time, and Facebook does the rest.

Strategic Advantage #4: They Are Smarter Than We Are

You want to hear to freaking weirdest thing? I still can’t get over this one…

I was sitting at lunch with my CTO down in Austin. Across the table was a VP in one of Facebook’s Advertising divisions. And she gave me advice I still have trouble believing…

“Don’t target. Just let Facebook do the targeting for you.”

This literally still makes my head spin. My entire career, I have made my bread + butter off being good at telling Facebook who to show my ads to. And here is someone…who clearly knows more than I do…telling me to essentially light my entire career’s worth of experience on fire.

Check out the ROI on these “No Targeting” campaigns I’ve been running since that lunch meeting…

I can’t believe how well these have worked.

I can guarantee you that no “Ads Experts” will be telling you to try this. They might as well say, “You really don’t need me at all.”

Full disclosure: I still test targeting alongside these campaigns. But as long as these “No Targeting” ones keep paying for themselves, I’ll let the keep running.

Strategic Advantage #5: They Track Your ROI Closer Than You Do

In Part I, I told you to forget your Cost Per Click (“CPC”). For YEARS we’ve been hit over the head by people saying, “Lower your cost per click!!!!”

Who cares how much you’re paying per click? I only look at one number: Return on Ad Spend (“ROAS”). All I do is hook up my SamCart account to Facebook, and Facebook knows my exact sales numbers. Boom = ROAS tracked down to the penny.

Because at the end of the day, I care that I am making my money back. Wether I am spending $10 or $10,000…it’s all the same math. If I can spend $100 and make $100 back, then I am golden.

I have grown my list for free. I have new customers to nurture. And 6 months from today, there will be a lot more profit after I have a chance to keep marketing to these new people!

Pro Tip: When it comes to buying traffic, play the long game.

But check out this screenshot…

ROAS is the only number that matters. And I literally tell Facebook what I want my ROAS to be, then forget about it.

Facebook uses their incredible amount of information to try and hit my target. And I sleep better knowing that I will never lose a big pile of money without having any sales to show for it.

The Bottom Line: Facebook is growing up.

Let other people think that Facebook Ads are just same old, same old. Now you know better.

  • You know that chasing cheap clicks is just bad business…
  • You know that Facebook is literally waiting to do the heavy lifting of finding new customers FOR you…
  • You know that Facebook will help you create the perfect ad…
