Hey there, friends. It’s been a minute since I’ve uploaded a new podcast. No, I didn’t forget about you all. We’ve just had some crazy (good) stuff happening – both personally and professionally.
We are getting ready to roll out some major updates at SamCart. You may have already heard about it by now, but if not, you’re going to want to pay attention. And I have been working on all this against a pretty important deadline- my third child is due in just a few weeks- so it looks like we are going to just make it.
Basically, SamCart is going to be getting a major facelift. It’s all really exciting stuff and we are sure you guys are going to love it. You can read more details over on the SamCart blog, but here are a few sneak peaks for what’s to come:
- different accessibility options for those of you who are working with a team and want people to have access to some but not all of your account
- customers will have the ability to manage their own subscriptions
- New reports available
- New conversion tracking options
It’s going to be big and it’s going to totally change the game for our customers. If you are already a SamCart customer, your account is going to look totally different on October 15th. If you’re not a customer, keep an eye out for more updates. We will have an exciting announcement for you on the 15th as well.

Speaker 1: Hey everybody, what’s going on? It has been a while since I last talked to you guys for good reason, which you guys will hear more about in the next couple of weeks. We’ve been crazy busy at the SamCart office. I’ve been crazy busy on both the professional front and the personal front. We actually have a third baby coming little over a month, so if I thought I was busy now I’m probably going to be even more busy than, but anyway, the one of the big reasons we’ve been so busy lately is we have a massive new update. A bunch of new updates coming to SamCart. If you guys are on our email list or messenger list, you probably might already have heard about all of these updates and more to come on October 15th by the time this podcast gets out there. Speaker 1: We just published a big update. I think we outlined like 24 of the newest features that have come in the last couple months. And then we have a big release coming out in October that is going to really fundamentally change the way that people use SamCart and what they build with SamCart. We’ve had a couple of big things that I’ve wanted for a long, long time. A couple even bigger things that you guys have wanted for a long, long time and they’re making their way into the platform and we’ll be live on October 15th which would be fun.
Speaker 1: So if you guys are curious what we’ve been up to behind the scenes, like I said, you can go over to the blog and read in more detail, but one of the big things we just pushed out for those of you that are either in the EU or sell to people in the EU, they have never failed to make it more difficult for people to do business.
Speaker 1: And one of the big new things is their whole SCA compliance stuff, makes everybody’s life miserable. But the good news is we got it fixed for you guys now. Everything you do with SamCart is SCA compliant, so don’t you to worry about any of that. We had another big issue for a couple of customers where your customers enter in their email on your checkout pages incorrectly creates a whole bunch of customer support issues. So we created an email confirmation feature that you can turn on or turn off that adds a second email box for somebody so that they have to type in their email twice and it usually ends up with them finding out that they had a typo and that saves you a bunch of time on customer support.
Speaker 1: We pushed out pay what you want, which if you have one of the most frequently used scenarios with this as you have a low ticket product, maybe it’s an eBook or a physical book or something like that and you want your customers to decide what they’re going to pay for it, you can actually enable that in SamCart now, which is pretty cool.
Speaker 1: We increased our digital file delivery, so if you want SamCart to deliver your digital files for you and you don’t want to set up a members area for a certain product. If you sell digital stuff, you can upload files up to a gigabyte. Now if you have a team, you can allow someone to just be a support rep or a read only admin on the their… I read only user in your SamCart dashboard so they don’t have the ability to go in and screw anything up where we just got custom domains added a couple months ago and now it’s available for everybody.
Speaker 1: I think you still have to request that one so you can use the chat inside your app if you’re a SamCart customer. If you’re not, you’re now can put SamCart on your own domain name or URL. We have a bunch of new integration rules, a whole if this, then that engine that you can create actions which is pretty sweet.
Speaker 1: Bunch of affiliate center upgrades, bunch of organizational stuff where you can filter either your products by their name or their price or set up tags, a bunch of new cool stuff with coupons. You now can actually let your customers manage their subscriptions if you want. So let’s say you have a piece of software or a membership site and people are paying 25 bucks a month, you can actually enable them to manage their own subscription. So every time they get a receipt, they’ll have a big button in that receipt that says, “Hey, you can manage your subscription.” And they can go in and self-cancel or do whatever they need to do, which a lot of people don’t want them to be able to do that. So you don’t have to have it turned on. But if you want to save yourself and your customer support team a bunch of time, you can turn that on and it’s pretty cool.
Speaker 1: A bunch of new reports, fail charges report, future subscription report, which can tell you how much money you’re going to make coming up. You have checkout delays. So you can hide the checkout form on a page, so we actually are creating a lot of our video sales letter or sales letter pages with this where we’ll embed a video or sales copy right on our checkout page and then hide the checkout form until the call to action in the video, which has been huge lift in conversions. So we’re actually essentially killing our checkout page so we’re only having one step in the process where you can put all your sales material on one page and that one page is also your checkout page when it comes time for them to buy.
Speaker 1: That’s kind of parlays into what we have coming on October 15th which I don’t want to give too much away on what is coming, but it has to do with sales pages and your ability to create those. So it’s going to be pretty cool.
Speaker 1: A lot of conversion tracking stuff, some new templates, a two-step template I think is coming out. I think I’m going to get my hands on it this week or early next week and I can’t wait to see that. Speaker 1: And the good news is this new template we will be using for all of our stuff. So once you see those pages switched over to the new template, you’ll know that I got my hands on it and that it quickly will be in your guys’ hands. Obviously if you’re a SamCart customer. I think those are the big ones. Obviously like I said, we’ve been crazy hard at work. The dev team has been cranking out new stuff left and right, and this is just what has been done already, let alone what eight 10 guys are working on right this minute and it’s going to all be coming out on the 15th.
Speaker 1: So October 15th keep your eye on your inbox. If you’re a SamCart customer, your account will radically change that day in a good way, in a fantastic way that we can’t wait to see what you guys do with what we’re building. Speaker 1: So anyway, that’s what’s going on behind the scenes at the office here. Figured I’d give you guys an update. I know it’s been awhile. I’ll try and get some more of these cranked out in the next couple of weeks specially before this baby comes and I won’t have much time for anything, but you know what? It’s going to be fun. Hopefully get to sleep some if this one’s anything like my second kid, which was the boy, he sleeps incredibly, incredibly well.
